I'm killing two birds with one stone today. Not literally, of course... I would never kill birds.
WIPs are first up. All the blocks for my grandson's quilt are cut out and I've figured out the placement. I don't have enough fabric to make it as big as I would like and I have too many blocks to make it a combination I Spy/Matching Game quilt. So, I'm going to have to add sashing around the blocks... a step I wasn't counting on, but as I was taking some I Spy fabrics out to make it into the combo quilt I decided that adding a sashing would be a better move. It will separate the blocks and make it easier to find the ones that need to be "spied". Without the sashing the quilt measures 36X30 before sewing.
The quilt is on hold for a couple of days as my next project is a "rush". Our oldest son and my husband are coaching our grandson's Little League baseball team. Usually we have already played the season and are finished with baseball, but, you know... COVID. The League decided to have a reduced season now and our grandson could not be happier. Having Dad and Grampa as coaches is just icing on the cake for him. However, just yesterday, the league notified coaches that the players and coaches will be required to wear masks during practices and games. I just happen to have some baseball fabric so I am back in the mask making business. Eleven kiddo masks and four for the coaches... that shouldn't take long, right?
Did I mention that they have a game tomorrow? No pressure!
What are your WIPs? Are you making progress or like, me, do you just add new projects before you finish the ones you've already started?
Stay safe and well
Thanks for dropping by...
